The deal, in plain language.

Accounts are for one person. You sign in with a magic link sent to your email, so your email address is your account — keep access to it. You must be 18 or older to hold an account.

When you enrol in a course, you’re buying a personal licence to the training for that course. The licence is yours; it isn’t transferable, and it isn’t a subscription that expires on us unless we say so at the point of sale.

The teaching method itself is not ours to own. Orton-Gillingham is an approach with a long history, and what you learn from us about how to teach reading is yours to use. What’s ours is the specific material: our videos, our sequence, our written lessons, our wording.

• Use what you learn to teach your own children, for as long as you like.
• Use it in your paid work — tutoring, a classroom, a co-op, a private practice.
• Make your own lesson materials based on the method.
• Tell other people the method exists, and send them here.

• Sharing your login, or letting someone else work through the course on your account.
• Downloading, re-hosting, or redistributing the videos or written materials.
• Reselling the course, or repackaging it as your own training program.
• Using our name or materials to suggest we certified or endorsed you.

This isn’t about squeezing people. It’s a family business, and course sales are what keep the scholarship fund and the free resources running.

If a course isn’t what you needed, email us within 30 days of enrolling and we’ll refund you. You don’t have to justify it or prove you tried hard enough.

After a refund, access to that course ends. Payments are processed by Stripe, and refunds go back to the original payment method.

One-on-one tutoring and training for schools or groups are arranged directly with us, and the specific terms — scheduling, cancellation, price — are whatever we agree in writing at the time. Those arrangements sit alongside these terms rather than replacing them.

Reading Tricks teaches a method of instruction. We do not diagnose dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, language processing disorder, or any other learning difference, and nothing on this site or in our courses is a clinical assessment or medical advice. A diagnosis comes from a qualified evaluator.

Our training is not an externally accredited credential, and completing it does not license or certify you under any state or professional body. If you need a specific credential, check that body’s requirements first.

We also can’t promise outcomes. Structured literacy instruction works, and it has a large evidence base behind it — but every learner is different, and nobody honest guarantees a result on a timeline.

We aim to keep the site and your course access running, but we can’t promise uninterrupted service. We may update course material over time; where a change is substantial, enrolled learners keep access to what they bought.

You can close your account at any time by emailing us. We may suspend an account that’s sharing access or redistributing material, and we’ll tell you why before we do.
